Why this campaign matters

In rural Bihar, children rarely leave school by choice. School fees, uniforms, books and stationery cost more than many families can spare, and many classrooms are too poorly equipped to keep children learning. Every year, 11 lakh children in Bihar leave school before finishing primary education.

How your donation helps

Our volunteers visit schools and families to find children aged 3 to 15 who are at risk of dropping out, and we cover whatever is keeping them away. At our Kathalia campus, more than 65 children in pre-primary and primary classes learn free of charge, with books, uniforms and learning materials provided. Children like three-year-old Sana learn letters, numbers, rhymes and colours there at no cost to their families.

What your gift pays for

  1. 1 School fees, bags, books, notebooks and stationery for children at risk of dropping out.
  2. 2 Free pre-primary and primary classes at our Kathalia campus, with uniforms and learning materials.
  3. 3 Better classrooms: teaching materials, wall charts, furniture and activity corners.
  4. 4 Training for teachers in play-based learning, early literacy and numeracy, and keeping girls in school.
  5. 5 Village meetings that remind parents every child belongs in school, held in 30 villages.
  6. 6 Term tests, art and activity days that track every child's progress.

“Education is not a privilege, it is a right. Our goal: free education for 10,000 children in the next five years.”
