Every year 11 lakh children in Bihar leave school before finishing primary education. Since 1984, we have been keeping them in class.
Build a School
We keep 2,450 children in school across 40 government and community schools.
Frequency:

North Bihar Field Context
In North Bihar the floods come every year. Work stops, and children are pulled out of school.
When monsoon floods submerge the villages of Darbhanga and Muzaffarpur, entire hamlets turn into isolated islands for weeks. For labouring and tenant families, schooling is the first sacrifice. Classrooms flood, uniforms and books are lost, and children are pulled into irregular farm labour.
MESKP has stayed in these exact panchayats since 1984. Rather than departing after the floodwaters recede, we operate permanent free village bridge classes, organize mobile health screening camps, train youth in skills that earn locally, and empower women through self-help groups.

Few families in Kathalia can afford pre-school. At the MESKP campus Sana learns letters, numbers, rhymes and colours alongside more than 65 other children, at no cost to her family. MESKP has committed to keep her in its free education programme for as long as she wants to study.
A ₹500 monthly sponsorship covers school fees, books, notebooks, stationery and uniforms, keeping a child enrolled and learning year-round.
